NEW HOPE TRAINING
PRE-CONFERENCE

Wednesday, March 12th from 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM
and Thursday, March 13th from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM, including lunch

You are needed as a New Hope Counselor!

You can take the Care & Kindness Conference home with you by using it as a New Hope Counselor. Just come a day early and participate in the New Hope Pre-Conference.

Every minute of every day someone in crisis is calling 714-NEW-HOPE or clicking on www.NewHopeNow.org to talk to a New Hope volunteer counselor. Volunteers serve on the hotline at the Crystal Cathedral or from their home computers.

Caring people just like you are needed to answer these cries for help that come from across America and around the world. All you need to do is listen.

  • “I just found out that my father has Alzheimer’s. He’s everything to me.” Joan, age 52
  • “I have a loaded gun in my lap. I’ve called seven places for help to no avail. This is my last call.” John, age 43
  • “I have no one to talk to. I was surfing the web and found this chat room.” “flygirl,” age 28
  • “I can’t go on without my wife. I’m in such anguish and pain inside. I just wish I could talk to her again, touch her and say, `I love you.’” Wade, age 64

Reverend Jim Kok, Psychologist Bill Gaultiere, and the New Hope staff are ready to train you in the skills of crisis counseling. You’ll learn to care at a deeper, more effective level. You’ll be inspired and equipped to dispense care and kindness, not only as a New Hope counselor, but in your every day life as well. You’ll become a life-saver!

You can register here for the New Hope Pre-Conference to the Care & Kindness Conference for $60. Please call Susan Balk at 714-971-4123 for more information.

New Hope has other training classes throughout the year and a web-based training program for New Hope Online counselors. To learn more go to “Volunteer Application” on www.NewHopeNow.org.

Here is a unique opportunity for you!
The New Hope Pre-conference is being offered again in conjunction with the International Conference on Care and Kindness. (Alums from our two previous New Hope conferences will be attending our online luncheon.)

You can learn Internet counseling to prevent suicide and to help hurting people around the world from your home computer and become an Associate member of the Crystal Cathedral - no matter where you live. Or you can acquire the initial skills for working on our New Hope telephones, if you live in the area of the Crystal Cathedral.

Some Care & Kindness Conference workshops will be required as part of your New Hope training.

NEW HOPE COUNSELORS

New Hope counselors are ordinary people who are doing something extraordinary with their lives. They've taken their pains and their struggles and turned them into beautiful offerings to God by helping other people.

Consider what you have to offer to God. Have you survived a trauma? Lost a loved one? Recovered from an addiction? Been through a difficult relationship? Or just felt like sharing the care in your heart with someone in need?

The New Hope training program is truly a life-changing experience.
Taught by Pastor James R. Kok and Psychologist Bill Gaultiere, the program has been perfected over its 30 year history and is truly a life-changing experience. By participating you will glean insights into active listening, effective counseling, crisis intervention, and setting boundaries with difficult people. You will also receive hands-on experience in telephone and internet counseling.

Best of all, because it is who we are that matters most in our helping, you will have the opportunity to participate in a small group with other prospective counselors. All this is in just three and half days!
